About
eCYBERMISSION is a free, virtual STEM competition organized by the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) and administered by the National Science Teaching Association. Middle school students in grades 6-9 form teams of two to four, led by an adult Team Advisor, to identify a problem in their community and investigate it using science or solve it with engineering. The competition is entirely online, fostering teamwork, self-discovery, and real-world STEM applications. Student registration for the 2026-2027 competition opens on August 12, 2026, and closes on February 24, 2027. Virtual judging takes place from March 10 to March 24, 2027. Participants work on their projects and submit a Mission Folder online, detailing their work and its community impact. Winners receive state, regional, and national awards in the form of U.S. savings bonds.
