SIGMA is a mathematics league designed to promote problem-solving through competition for students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. It offers opportunities for students to apply mathematical knowledge to non-routine problems and compete nationally as individuals, teams, and schools. There are separate contests for each grade level, held five times throughout the year. The contests consist of 8 questions with a 30-minute time limit. Any interested student is eligible to participate, and there is no limit to the number of participants a school may have. Specific registration dates for the upcoming 2026-2027 contest cycles are not yet available but are typically ongoing throughout the academic year.
Who's eligible
Students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. Any interested student is eligible.
How to enroll
Schools register first to create a group, then students register individually. Rolling registration throughout the year.
