FIRST LEGO League Explore (part of FIRST) offers a hands-on STEM experience for students aged 6-10 (approximately grades 1-5). For the 2026-2027 season, the program is themed "FIRST CANOPY" and features the biodiversity-themed "BIOGLOW Challenge," where teams focus on the fundamentals of engineering by exploring real-world problems and designing, creating, and coding solutions with LEGO® bricks powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential. Registration for the 2026-2027 season opened on May 19, 2026, with a registration deadline of October 31, 2026, for teams participating in events. The program involves team-based learning through challenges, robotics, coding, and research. It is a national program with regional events. The cost for FIRST LEGO League Explore is $150 per season, which includes an official team number and a BIOGLOW™ Founders Edition Explore Set. Additional fees apply for event participation, which are set by local FIRST Program Delivery Partners.
