The USA Computing Olympiad (USACO) is a free, online algorithmic programming competition open to pre-college students worldwide, including advanced middle school students. It serves as the qualifying pathway for the USA team at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The competition consists of four online contests during the academic year (December, January, February, and the US Open in March/April), with each round running over a four-day window. All participants start in the Bronze division, and top performers can be promoted to higher divisions.
Who's eligible
Pre-college students worldwide, including middle school students. Must be a US citizen or resident for IOI/EGOI team selection.
