The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) hosts the annual STEM Solutions Showcase Student Competition, an online competition challenging K-12 students to develop engineering solutions to real-world problems. The competition for 2026 opens on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with a registration deadline of Friday, August 14, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Students in grades K-2 are required to make a copy of a STEM Solutions Worksheet, draw their solution, and explain their idea. Grades 3-12 (which includes 3-5) submit a short pitch video explaining their idea and the STEM concepts behind it. Eligibility is for students in U.S., U.S. territory, or DoDEA schools, or homeschooled students. Prizes are awarded for K-2 and 3-5 grade bands. The competition is free to enter.

How to enroll
