FIRST LEGO League Explore, part of the FIRST LEGO League program, introduces STEM to elementary school children aged 6 to 10 (grades 2-4) through hands-on challenges. The 2026-2027 season, themed "BIOGLOW™ Founders Edition," officially kicked off on August 4, 2026, focusing on biodiversity. Teams of two to six children, with an adult facilitator, learn about programming using LEGO Education robotics sets and create motorized LEGO models. Registration for the new season typically opens annually in late April/early May, and teams can register up to four weeks before their chosen regional exhibition. Teams present their projects at regional exhibitions. Event availability, format, and timing vary by region, taking place across the nation.
