ORISE offers a virtual Fusion Science Competition for K-12 students, including the K-5 grade band, which opens on May 1, 2026. Participants are encouraged to research fusion science and answer a series of provided questions to share their learnings. This is a free, online competition. Students must be enrolled in a U.S., U.S. territory, or DoDEA school and can participate individually. The deadline for submission is May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Winners, selected randomly from each grade band, will be announced in late June 2026 and receive prizes such as a 3D printer for kids.
